Recently, Argos announced that two different models of washing machines they had sold had become part of a Product Recall. This meant that anyone who had purchased these appliances were risking the potential of a home bursting into flames. To identify if you have one of the models, watch this short video.

For your information the above appliances were withdrawn from the market in May 2014. It was found that an electrical component in the front control panel of the washing machine can overheat leading to a risk of fire and burns. There have been almost 300 Product Recalls in the last 6/7 years and in 2011/12 there were 2000 fires caused by large domestic appliances.
