We're pleased to report that we're beginning to see local communities offering their used Appliances to EEESafe. Households and Housing Associations that have registered with our National Appliance Safety Register. (NASR), have begun to pass their used Appliances to to us so that we can give them to local repairers.
Through Electrical Safety, EEESafe ensures as far as possible that the items don't go to the Recyclers or to the Tip, but rather are given to local Tradesmen or Reuse Organisations for Free. The goods are given as long as they agree to record future used Appliance sales on the Register, unless a customer objects. This not only ensures that homes have a reduced fire risk, but that local businesses get more work, waste gets prevented and impoverished families don't need to get into debt because more appliances are available locally at lower costs.
As recorded at DEFRA Reuse Forums, we know from many charities that there is a shortage of used Appliances, and importantly Approved Refurbished Appliances from EEESafe Registered Repairers are extra safe, because they complete our independent Competent Persons Assessments. You'll recognise products from them by their Registered Labels.
“Together, with the support of the public and landlords, we can create even safer environments at home to protect tenants and properties, as well as increase local regeneration and reduce poverty.”
EEESafe is a great example of how a Social Business can help impoverished communities. Households can register their large household Appliances with EEESafe who will check records to ensure they don't have an Appliance that may cause a serious accident or a house fire. Remember that there were 2000 recorded fires, due to faulty Large Appliances, in just one year. This year, we've already seen almost One Million more Fire risks from new Product recalls on Large White Goods.
“Once a property is registered then the owner, tenant or Landlord will be notified if their Appliances become subject to a Product Recall. The Fire Service, some of the UK Trading Standards and the Insurance Sector are beginning to work with us to promote the Register.”
Register your appliances and have your Free online Electrical Safety check, plus your ongoing 24/7 monitoring service. All we then ask is you remember those who are poor when you finally replace your appliances.
You will help: Reduce Debt, Reduce Fires, Help the Poor, Help the Homeless, Create Jobs, Increase Local Regeneration, Lower Waste Arisings, Decrease Carbon Emissions, Increase & fill skills gaps, Increase Safety at Work. All by working with EEESafe.
“Be Safe, Be Helpful & Remember your neighbour in need.”
