Living in a world short of resources which ultimately will run dry, means we’ll have to learn to share so much more with each other, particularly with the current speed of Climate Change.
So why should we live as we have for so long, driven by ownership, consumption to sometimes seek a higher status than those with whom we share life.
LocalitEEE has begun to make change and operating a Circular Economy model that helps us transition to a sustainable world. It offers that Model that we want you to engage with, and all we ask is that you join our Sharing Community and start living as we should.
The more volunteering you do, the more you can earn to spend your EEECoins with local businesses, who may offer you some great local deals. Foodbanks may also distribute EEECoins that would get you some great offers, but you’ll need our App or an Email to cash them in. If you use our LocalitEEE Shop to sell items, you can also help to Generate EEECoins ring-fenced for your own Community or Projects
We’re currently living on a planet that eats up one and a half of its available resources. Common sense tells us that we can’t keep it up. The population of the world is still growing, yet resources continue to deplete.
We’re living in a Comsumptive Society and many well meaning social enterprise projects continue to look at how they help their community, driven by consumption.
We need to be sustainable in what we do in our communities. A common basic reason why we work, is to pay bills and eat food and live in a home. Yet if we could have many of our needs met nearest to where we live, we would need less money to purchase, less need to work, less fuel to travel to work, less bills to pay causing less people to administer the bills…and so on.
So we think we should try and share what resources we have with those unable to afford it, from a Single Platform that already focuses on Sustainable Community Living.
So consider sharing what you have, and in some cases, earn Social Currency, EEECoins, to exchange for goods and services where you live.
When you share, then you care, because you’re willing to let someone else use what they cannot afford.
This can help them stay away from Payday Loan companies and get themselves into debt. Sometimes you can even give away what you share, because you may be in a fortunate position, that you can purchase a new item.
LocalitEEE can help, because it’s a single platform for buying, selling and caring for others where you live. It’s an evidence based system where you can demonstrate how you are sharing to help others, and where we all give something back, encouraging others to do the same.
Shared resources are coming shortly and when it does, you must be asking what can you share. Well here are just a few examples, and we’ll make it so easy for you to do, but also encourage community cohesion.
Car Sharing
Book Sharing linked to local Meetups and Reviews
DVD’s & Games
Tool Sharing
Safe Appliance Sharing
Skills through our Volunteer Module and Jobs Board
…more to come and you can even choose to charge if you don’t want to share!
You’ll know exactly where your Shared Items are and who they are with.
A Classic example of how we help is the continuing squeeze on Government Budgets that mean Public Libraries are closing. Whilst this is not always a good thing, it does mean all the energy requirements are reduced in running the buildings, and the costs of paying for those who were employed (incl their energy demands). Now whilst that not always popular, the good thing is we can meet each other more locally and share our books with each other. We can give new work and potential jobs to local meetup places, as we bring along the Selected Books. We can then get to meet new friends and build resilient communities.
