We want to help people keep products and resources in use for longer, make repair and reuse safer and easier, support local skills and businesses, and keep more of the value created by everyday activity within the community.
We believe people are more likely to engage when they can see that their choices matter. By repairing, reusing, registering, donating, buying locally or taking part through a business or community organisation, individual actions can contribute to a wider collective benefit.
Part of that value should come back to the places where it is created. Our community model is designed to support local businesses, widen opportunity, encourage Digital Inclusion and share community benefit in ways that help households as well as the local economy.
We also want communities to be able to see the difference they are making. By turning local activity into meaningful evidence of repair, reuse, waste prevention, resource savings and participation, Sustainable Living becomes something people can recognise as well as support.
