EEESafe Ltd and LocalitEEE Terms of Use

Scope of the Platform

EEESafe (“we” or “us”) operates an online platform that facilitates connections between users for the repair, reuse, sale, or donation of electrical appliances. We act solely as a facilitator and not as a provider of repair services or a seller of products.

This means that any actual service or sales contract is between the users themselves, such as between a repairer and a consumer, or a donor and a charity. EEESafe is not a party to those transactions and does not directly supply, manufacture, or repair any appliance listed on the platform

Our role is limited to operating and maintaining the EEESafe platform (including the LocalitEEE marketplace and Appliance Safety Register) and providing tools for users to engage with each other. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or suitability of any products or services offered by users through the platform

By using EEESafe, you acknowledge that EEESafe is a Circular Economy venue for user interactions and that users, not EEESafe, are responsible for fulfilling the obligations of any transaction or service arranged via the platform.

User Responsibilities

All users of EEESafe must use the platform in a lawful and responsible manner. You agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the UK in connection with your use of our site

Users are expected to provide truthful, accurate information and to refrain from any misuse of the platform

Specific obligations apply depending on your user role:

  • Repairers (Service Providers): If you offer repair services or refurbished appliances on EEESafe, you must have and maintain any qualifications, certifications, insurance, or licenses required by UK law for the work you perform. You are responsible for ensuring that all repairs are carried out safely and in accordance with applicable standards (e.g. electrical safety regulations) and that repaired appliances are safe for use. You agree to record accurate details of any repairs performed on an appliance via the platform (for example, updating the appliance’s Digital Twin record with the repair history). Repairers must provide truthful descriptions of their services, and any items listed and must not misrepresent their skills or the condition of appliances. You are further responsible for complying with consumer protection laws – for instance, honouring any warranty or return obligations you choose to offer and providing required disclosures to consumers. Illegal, fraudulent, or unsafe practices are strictly prohibited

Repairers should inspect and test any donated electrical goods as required by law or good practice (such as Portable Appliance Testing for electrical safety) before donating them locally.

If you operate as or on behalf of a Community Repair Hub, shop or Cafe or other business, you must meet any Trading Standards requirements for selling second-hand electrical goods (such as verifying product safety and recall status). This is a service EEESafe does provide when your Appliances are Registered at Register Your Appliance.

  • Consumers (Individuals using EEESafe): If you use the platform to purchase or obtain repaired appliances, to request repair services, or to register your appliances, you agree to provide accurate information about your appliances and needs. For example, when registering an appliance on the Appliance Safety Register, you should provide correct details (model, serial number, etc.) so that our recall checks are effective. When requesting a repair or buying an item, you must use the appliance safely and follow any instructions or guidelines provided by the repairer or manufacturer. Consumers are responsible for ensuring that any appliance they intend to reuse or resell via EEESafe is in safe working condition and compliant with UK safety standards. You also agree not to misuse the platform (for example, you must not knowingly attempt to sell or give away a recalled or dangerous appliance or engage in fraudulent payment or refund schemes). Any information or content you post (such as appliance listings, reviews, or messages) must be lawful and truthful, and must not violate the rights of others or applicable laws (e.g. no harassment, hate speech, or IP infringement)
  • Charities and Non-Profits: If you are a charity or social enterprise using EEESafe (for instance, to receive donated appliances or to distribute appliances to the community), you have a responsibility to ensure that appliances handled via the platform are safe and used for their intended social purpose. Charities should inspect and test any donated electrical goods as required by law or good practice (such as Portable Appliance Testing for electrical safety) before redistributing them. If you provide appliances to beneficiaries, you must not charge unreasonable fees and should abide by any applicable charity laws regarding the sale of donated goods. Charities are also expected to provide accurate information on their organisation and needs, and to communicate promptly with donors and consumers. Like all users, charities must comply with relevant regulations (for example, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) regulations if you handle non-functional appliances for recycling) and must not engage in any fraudulent or unlawful activity on the platform
  • All Users (General Conduct): Every user is responsible for their own actions on the platform. You agree not to post false, misleading, or defamatory information

You must not use EEESafe for any purpose that is unlawful, harmful, or prohibited by these Terms (such as spreading malware, harassing others, or violating privacy)

You are accountable for understanding and fulfilling your legal obligations in any transaction you undertake. For example, if you are selling an appliance as a business, you must comply with UK consumer rights laws on returns and refunds; if you are disposing of an appliance, you must follow environmental disposal regulations. By using EEESafe, you confirm that you understand the legal duties associated with your activities and that you will independently ensure compliance with all applicable UK laws (including consumer protection, product safety, data protection, and environmental regulations). EEESafe may provide resources or guidance (such as links to relevant regulations or best practices) to assist users, but the onus is on you to operate lawfully. If you are unsure of your obligations, you should seek appropriate advice or refrain from using the platform for that activity.  To further assist you, more information is located in the Stakeholders Registration section.

Disclaimers of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

Use at Your Own Risk: EEESafe provides the platform “as is” and makes no express or implied warranties or guarantees about the platform’s operation or the content, products, or services provided by users on the platform

We do not warrant the completeness, accuracy, or reliability of any information on our site, including appliance listings, repair records, or user reviews

While we strive to verify certain safety information (such as known product recalls), EEESafe does not guarantee that any appliance is free of defects or that any repair service will be satisfactory. Any reliance you place on information or materials obtained through EEESafe is strictly at your own risk

No Endorsement or Verification: EEESafe is not responsible for the quality of repairs or appliances offered by third-party users

We do not independently verify all user-provided content or claims. The presence of a repairer’s or seller’s listing on EEESafe does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee by EEESafe of that user’s reliability or the safety of their services/products. Users are solely responsible for evaluating and verifying each other’s credentials, qualifications, and the condition of appliances. For example, any certifications (such as an “EEESafe Certified Repairer” status) indicate that a repairer has met certain training or standards, but EEESafe does not supervise each repair task. You should exercise due diligence when engaging in transactions – for instance, ask to see evidence of a repairer’s insurance or qualification, or inspect a refurbished appliance for safety before use.

Third-Party Transactions: Any transaction, agreement, or arrangement for sale or services is strictly between the users involved, i.e. between the seller and buyer, or repairer and customer. EEESafe is not a party to those contracts and has no control over the fulfilment of any sale or service

We do not have possession of any appliances listed by users, nor do we formally broker the deals. As a result, EEESafe cannot be held liable for any disputes, damages, or losses arising from transactions between users. This includes, without limitation, any injury, damage, or loss caused by a repaired or second-hand appliance, any defect or failure of an appliance, any financial loss in a sale, or any dispute over the quality of work performed by a repairer. If you have a dispute with another user (for example, a buyer with a seller or a client with a repairer), you agree that the dispute is between you and that user – not with EEESafe – and you release EEESafe from any claims or liability arising out of such disputes. We do encourage users to inform us of serious issues (such as fraud or safety hazards) so we can consider appropriate action (such as warning or banning a user), but the ultimate resolution of user-to-user issues rests with the parties involved.

No Warranty by EEESafe: To the fullest extent permitted by law, EEESafe disclaims all warranties and conditions relating to the platform and any products or services exchanged through it. This includes disclaimers of any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement

EEESafe does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the website or app. Technical issues may occur, and we will try to fix them promptly, but we are not liable for any temporary unavailability of the platform

Any material downloaded or obtained through EEESafe is done at your own discretion and risk; users are responsible for implementing sufficient antivirus protections and other safeguards on their systems.

Limitation of Liability: EEESafe’s liability to you is limited. Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes or limits our liability for serious matters that cannot by law be excluded, such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

Subject to those non-excludable matters, EEESafe will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages

In particular, we are not liable for any loss of profits, loss of business opportunity, loss of data, or loss of goodwill; nor are we liable for the cost of procuring substitute goods or services

EEESafe’s total aggregate liability, if any, shall be limited to the fees (if any) you have paid to us for use of the platform in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is lower, to the extent such a cap is enforceable under applicable law. You assume full responsibility for any risk of damage or loss from your use of EEESafe. For example, if you purchase a used appliance via the platform, you assume the risk that the appliance may be faulty; if you perform a repair arranged through EEESafe, you assume the risk of any injury or damage that may occur in the process.

User Indemnification: To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold EEESafe harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms or your improper use of the platform. For instance, if you are a repairer and your negligence causes damage to a customer’s property, and the customer then brings a claim against EEESafe, you agree to reimburse EEESafe for any costs or damages incurred

This indemnity extends to any misuse of the Appliance Safety Register data or any violation of law or rights of a third party by your content or conduct.

User Accountability and Legal Compliance

Confirmation of Legal Obligations: By registering an account or otherwise using EEESafe, you confirm that you understand your legal obligations in connection with your activities on the platform and that you will comply with all applicable laws. Users are fully responsible for ensuring their compliance with UK laws and regulations applicable to their actions

EEESafe does not provide legal advice, but we may highlight certain regulations (for example, we might direct sellers to UK electrical safety guidelines or repairers to consumer rights laws) in our documentation or FAQs for your convenience. Ultimately, however, you must conduct your EEESafe-related activities lawfully.

For Repairers and Sellers: You must comply with laws such as the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Sale of Goods Act (for second-hand goods, ensuring items are as described and safe), the General Product Safety Regulations, and any industry-specific regulations. If you are handling waste electrical equipment, you must follow WEEE regulations and environmental laws. If you hire staff or trainees via EEESafe programs, you must follow employment laws. You also need to report income to HMRC as required – EEESafe has no responsibility for your tax affairs. By using our platform, you warrant that you are operating within the law, and you agree that if you are in breach of any legal requirements, you alone will be accountable for the consequences. EEESafe may, at its discretion, require users (especially repairers or hubs) to verify that they meet certain legal standards. For example, we may ask a Repair Hub to confirm they have appropriate public liability insurance and are aware of Trading Standards guidelines

For Consumers and Charities: You likewise agree to abide by all laws relevant to you. If you acquire an appliance through EEESafe, you must use it in accordance with the manufacturer’s safety instructions and not engage in any illegal use of the product. If you donate an appliance, you should ensure you have the right to do so (e.g., you are the owner) and that giving it away doesn’t violate any laws or terms (for instance, not donating stolen goods). Charities should ensure compliance with any regulatory requirements for accepting or distributing used goods (including safety testing and record-keeping).

Acknowledgment: You acknowledge that EEESafe does not assume responsibility for a user’s legal compliance, and any failure by a user to comply with the law is solely that user’s responsibility. EEESafe will not be liable for any penalties, fines, or damages resulting from a user’s illegal conduct. We strongly encourage all users to educate themselves on their legal duties. By using EEESafe, you agree that if a regulatory authority or injured party seeks redress for something you did (or failed to do) in connection with the platform, you will not hold EEESafe liable and will indemnify EEESafe as described above for any costs or damages that result from your violation.

Digital Twin & Appliance Safety Register

EEESafe provides a Digital Twin and Appliance Safety Register system as a core feature of the platform. The Appliance Safety Register is a national register of appliances and their safety status, designed to improve transparency and safety in the second-hand appliance market. When you register an appliance on EEESafe, a digital profile (“Digital Twin”) for that appliance is created or updated, which may include details such as the appliance’s make, model, serial number, age, and ownership history, as well as records of any repairs or safety notices. Repair records are stored in these Digital Twins, allowing you and other authorised parties to verify an appliance’s repair history and status before resale or reuse

This system helps prevent the sale of recalled or unsafe appliances by flagging known recalls or safety alerts associated with registered items

Linking an Appliance: Users have the right (and are encouraged) to link appliances they own to their EEESafe account by registering them on the Appliance Safety Register. By linking an appliance, you become the registered contact for that item, enabling you to receive free safety recall alerts for that model in line with manufacturer or regulator notices

Upon registration, EEESafe will check if your appliance is currently subject to any known product recall or safety alert and inform you of the result. We will continue to monitor for new recalls and alert you if your registered appliance becomes subject to a recall in the future. Linking an appliance also allows you to maintain a digital log of repairs or parts replacements, which can add value and safety assurance if you later resell or donate the appliance. You agree that any information you provide about an appliance (such as its model or condition) is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you consent to EEESafe associating that information with the appliance’s Digital Twin record.

Unlinking an Appliance: If you no longer own an appliance or no longer wish to have it associated with your account (for example, if you have sold, donated, or scrapped the item), you have the right to unlink the appliance from your EEESafe account. To protect the integrity of safety data, EEESafe requires a 30-day notice period for unlinking an appliance. This means you should initiate the unlink request at least 30 days before you want the disassociation to take effect. The 30-day notice period serves several purposes: it allows any pending safety notifications or data updates to be processed, ensures that there is a window for a new owner to register the appliance (if it’s changing hands), and helps EEESafe maintain accurate records for auditing and safety tracking. During this 30-day period, the appliance will remain listed under your account, but you should note in its status that a transfer or removal is pending if applicable (for instance, marking it as “pending sale” or “to be scrapped”). After the notice period elapses, EEESafe will remove the link between you and the appliance. The appliance’s Digital Twin record will remain in the Appliance Safety Register for historical safety purposes, but it will no longer be tied to your user profile. If you dispose of an appliance, we may mark its record as “decommissioned” rather than deleting it, so that any future safety issues (like recalls related to that model) can still be tracked in aggregate; however, no personal user information will be associated with a decommissioned record.

Access to Appliance Data: By linking an appliance, you grant EEESafe permission to collect and store data about that appliance, and you agree that certain data (such as recall status, repair history, and a general indication of the appliance’s age or condition) may be shared with other users or third parties in the interest of safety. For example, if you list a registered appliance for sale on the LocalitEEE marketplace, the Digital Twin may allow a potential buyer to see that the appliance has a verified repair history or is clear of any recalls – but personal details like your name or address are not shown publicly without your consent. Safety regulators and services may be given access to appliance records in our system as needed for public safety—for instance, fire safety services might access repair records to track potential fire hazards in the community

EEESafe will only grant such access to legitimate authorities or partners under appropriate data-sharing agreements (see Privacy Policy below for more on data sharing). By using the Appliance Safety Register, you agree that accuracy and safety come first: if EEESafe notifies you of a recall on an appliance you have registered, you should act promptly (e.g., cease using it and follow recall instructions). Similarly, if you perform a repair on a registered appliance, you should update its record truthfully. EEESafe is not responsible for any failure by a user to heed a recall alert or update a repair record.

Prohibited Actions: Users must not misuse the Appliance Safety Register. You may not attempt to falsify a Digital Twin record (for example, logging a fake repair or trying to remove a recall flag without resolving the issue). You may not claim ownership of an appliance that you do not own or control. Any attempt to abuse the registry – such as removing an appliance from tracking to evade a safety recall, or linking appliances en masse for improper purposes – is a serious violation of these Terms. EEESafe reserves the right to deny unlinking requests or re-link appliances to a new user if we have evidence of a transfer of ownership. For instance, if you sold an appliance and try to unlink it immediately without the buyer re-registering it, we may keep the appliance registered (but unlinked from you) until we can determine if the new owner will assume the registration. These steps are in place to ensure that appliances do not “fall off the radar” in terms of safety monitoring.

Suspension and Termination of Accounts

EEESafe is committed to maintaining a trustworthy community. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if we determine that you have violated these Terms of Use or any applicable law, or if you have engaged in behaviour that is fraudulent, unethical, or harmful to our platform or users

Grounds for suspension or termination include, but are not limited to:

  • Breach of Terms: Any material violation of the Terms of Use, such as posting prohibited content, engaging in prohibited conduct, or failing to abide by user responsibilities. For example, attempting to sell a known recalled appliance, repeatedly providing false information, or circumventing safety features can result in immediate account action.
  • Fraudulent or Illegal Activity: Use of the platform for any fraudulent purpose (e.g., scamming other users, payment fraud) or any illegal activity (such as selling stolen goods, violating export controls, or conspiring to commit crimes) will result in termination. We have a zero-tolerance policy for fraud. If we suspect fraud or unlawful conduct, we may suspend your account while investigating and may report the matter to law enforcement as appropriate.
  • Safety Violations: Actions that put other users or the public at risk, such as willfully ignoring safety protocols, misrepresenting the condition of a potentially dangerous appliance, or performing unqualified repairs that pose hazards, can lead to termination. EEESafe takes appliance safety seriously; if a repairer is found to be uncertified or performing shoddy, unsafe work, we may remove them from the platform to protect consumers.
  • Repeated Complaints or Misconduct: If a user (repairer, seller, or buyer) accumulates multiple serious complaints – for example, reports of rude or abusive behavior, failure to honor transactions, no-shows for repair appointments, or other misconduct – we may suspend or ban that user. We will generally investigate complaints and give a warning for minor issues, but EEESafe reserves the right to act swiftly in serious cases or where trust in the user is broken.
  • Non-Compliance with Legal Requirements: For certain user roles (like Repair Hubs or certified repairers), we may require ongoing compliance with certification, audit, or insurance requirements. If a repairer loses a required certification or a Hub fails an audit and does not rectify issues, we may suspend their account until compliance is restored. Likewise, if any user is found to be on a relevant sanctions list or otherwise legally barred from participating, we will terminate access.

If your account is suspended or terminated, we will notify you of the action and, where possible, provide a brief explanation of the reason (unless we are legally prevented from doing so, as in a law enforcement request). In some cases, we may give you an opportunity to appeal or explain (for example, if there was a misunderstanding or you can correct a violation). However, EEESafe’s decision on account termination is final and made at our sole discretion in order to protect our platform and users.

Effect of Termination: If your account is terminated, you must cease using the EEESafe platform. Any ongoing transactions at the time of termination may be cancelled at EEESafe’s discretion (for instance, we might cancel a pending sale or service booking if the provider is banned). You will not be entitled to any refunds of fees paid to EEESafe (if any) in the case of termination for cause. We may delete or anonymise your user content, listings, or profile information, but data that you provided to others (such as messages or transaction records) may still be retained by those parties or by EEESafe as needed for dispute resolution or legal compliance. You are not allowed to create a new account if your original account has been terminated for violations. EEESafe may use technical measures to prevent banned users from returning.

User Initiated Termination: You have the right to terminate your own account at any time. You may do so by using any account deletion function on the platform or by contacting EEESafe support with a request to close your account. Closing your account will end your ability to log in or use platform features. Please note that if you have any appliances linked to your account, you should unlink them (with the 30-day notice as described above) before closing the account or contact us to transfer those appliance records appropriately. Even after you delete your account, EEESafe’s Privacy Policy (see below) describes what data may be retained for a period of time. Also, any commitments you made prior to termination (such as completing a transaction or honouring a warranty you provided on a repair) should still be fulfilled directly between you and the other party, if applicable.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Governing Law: These Terms of Use, and any dispute or claim (contractual or non-contractual) arising out of or in connection with your use of EEESafe, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales

If you use the platform from another jurisdiction, you are still responsible for complying with local laws, but the legal relationship between you and EEESafe will be governed by UK law. Users in Scotland or Northern Ireland may have certain consumer rights to bring proceedings in their local courts, but by agreeing to these Terms you acknowledge that the intended governing law is that of England and Wales.

Jurisdiction: You agree that the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the platform

If you are a consumer user, you may also be entitled under law to bring proceedings in your local jurisdiction (for example, in Scotland or Northern Ireland if that is where you reside). EEESafe will not deny any such mandatory rights you have. For business users, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts. Nothing in this section limits EEESafe’s right to seek injunctive relief or enforce judgments in any appropriate jurisdiction if necessary.

Dispute Resolution Process: EEESafe is committed to helping users resolve disputes. If you have a dispute with EEESafe (for example, about our services or a suspension decision), we encourage you to contact us first to attempt to resolve it informally. You can reach our support team via the contact information on our website, and we will attempt in good faith to address your concerns. Most user concerns can be resolved through our support channels. If a dispute arises between you and another user, you should first attempt to resolve it by communicating with each other through the platform’s messaging, when available or each other’s contact information and keep a joint record. EEESafe may, at our discretion, offer limited assistance such as facilitating communication or providing relevant information we have (for instance, confirming what our records show about a transaction), but we do not formally arbitrate disputes between users.

Should any dispute related to the use of the platform remain unresolved, you and EEESafe agree to consider mediation or another alternative dispute resolution (ADR) method in good faith. EEESafe might be able to suggest a neutral mediation service for disputes that involve the platform’s operations. As a consumer, if you are unhappy with how we have handled any issue, you can also seek guidance or intervention from UK consumer protection bodies.

If a dispute proceeds to court, the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover its reasonable legal fees and costs from the other party to the extent permitted by law.

Class Action Waiver: To the extent allowed by law, you and EEESafe agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding. (This clause may not apply in jurisdictions that do not permit class action waivers, but it is an expression of the intent under these Terms.)

Severability of Provisions: If any part of this Governing Law & Dispute Resolution section is found to be illegal or unenforceable, it shall be severed and the remainder of this section (and the Terms as a whole) shall continue in full force and effect

By using the EEESafe platform, you agree to the above Governing Law and Dispute terms. We recommend that you retain a copy of these Terms for your records and familiarise yourself with your rights and obligations. If you do not agree with the legal jurisdiction or any other provision in these Terms, you must discontinue use of EEESafe.

Place-Based Model & Micro-Grants (PLEEECash)

EEESafe operates a transparent community-based funding model based on where Appliances are geographically registered, where a portion of revenues generated from platform activities is allocated to local community micro-grants (PLEEECash). Whilst this is a charitable donation, we are not a Charity.  It is a structured Social Enterprise commitment to positively impact social, environment and poverty reduction both locally and globally. It is designed to engage citizens into a Circular Economy Community as a force for good. The following applies:

  1. PLEEECash is distributed within each LocalitEEE community when a defined funding threshold is reached. If not reached, then a community will be the UK or Regionally until numbers in the 64K cohort reach approximately 300, or at the discretion of EEESafe.
  2. Only registered LocalitEEE Members, who are a household that must have at least one in use registered appliance, are eligible to apply and vote.
  3. A member will be someone who proves where they live, so that we can build Trusted Communities and avoid fake members. This will be determined during the household registration process through redacted information, that will be immediately deleted from our servers.
  4. Members cannot vote for family or household members, ensuring fairness in distribution. We have pattern recognition in place and to inform us if there is any vote rigging intent. If found to be the case, Members will be removed after investigation, with supported evidence from our Community Administrators.
  5. EEESafe does not guarantee availability of funds in any given period, and users acknowledge that grant distributions are voluntary and not contractually enforceable. Percentages donated from paid for services, may vary between 1%-75% and is at the sole discretion of EEESafe and Appointed Board Directors

LocalitEEE Membership & Voting Rules
To participate in voting as to who in your community or the whole community for PLEEECash awards, users must be:

  1. A registered LocalitEEE Member (anyone with an owned and in use appliance registered with our Register Your Appliance Platform).
  2. Verified as the primary bill-payer at their household address. (Membership is per household)
  3. In agreement that their voting data may be recorded to ensure compliance with the fair voting rules.
  4. In agreement that voting must be conducted fairly, and any attempt to manipulate votes (such as creating multiple accounts) will result in removal from our platform.

Stakeholder Registration & Business Directory Responsibilities

Stakeholders, including repairers and businesses (excluding citizens), must verify their identity before being listed in the LocalitEEE Business Directory. Registration includes:

  1. Providing proof of business legitimacy (business registration, trading address, and optionally, insurance documents).
  2. Declaring compliance with UK repair, resale, and waste management regulations.
  3. Ensuring all listed contact details and services are up to date.
  4. Accepting that repair transactions facilitated through EEESafe are independent agreements between users, and EEESafe is not liable for disputes.
  5. Agree they are familiar with UK Product Safety Legislation and their obligation and are aware of guidance on business and safety obligations from Business Companion https://www.businesscompanion.info/ and The Office for Product Safety Standards. https://www.gov.uk/business-and-industry/product-safety where information about Product Recalls is also available

Digital Twin & Appliance Safety Register – Linking & Unlinking Rules

EEESafe enables appliance tracking via our Digital Twin Platform (Register Your Appliance), which records citizen ownership, repair history, repairers’ info (if Certified), and used to prevent known White Goods safety recalls being sold online and also include other Material Metrics to create positive data to support UK and potential UN partners to help meet the UK Resource Requirements and reduce dependency on foreign country imports. No personal data is shared. We are Registered with the ICO to help assure citizens and stakeholders who want to build Trusted Communities for Good. Therefore:

  1. Repairers must obtain consumer consent before linking an appliance they repair.
  2. Consumers and Repairers can unlink an appliance with 30 days’ notice from either party.
  3. EEESafe reserves the right to maintain anonymised appliance history for safety tracking, even after unlinking.
  4. Users acknowledge that EEESafe is not responsible for ensuring the ongoing safety of your repaired appliances.
  5. Users are aware that when products change ownership, they can continue as registered providing the new owner agrees.

Liability Disclaimer – Transactions, Services, and Product Issues

EEESafe does not guarantee the quality, safety, or accuracy of any appliances, repairs, or transactions occurring via the platform. Users acknowledge:
Repairers and sellers are solely responsible for their services and products.

  1. EEESafe is not liable for defective products, financial losses, injuries, or disputes arising from user transactions.
  2. Any disputes must be resolved directly between the users involved and as described in the Dispute Resolution section.

Fees, Community Contributions & Platform Funding

Banking Gateway Fees:

All Marketplace Sellers and Stakeholders agree to a variable Banking Gateway fee applied to sales and transactions on the EEESafe platform (including the LocalitEEE marketplace). The fee will be clearly displayed on the website and is subject to change based on our provider’s rates. This fee is credited as a donation to EEESafe Ltd and directly funds platform development and additional community-benefiting phases under our Place-Based Model. These contributions support our mission to reduce poverty and address social and environmental challenges.

Stakeholder Invoices & Community Development Fee:

Certified Domestic Appliance Technicians (DATs) and other registered stakeholders will also incur a non-negotiable 1% Community Development fee on invoices. This fee supports local development projects where stakeholders operate. Contributions will be shown on each Certified DAT’s LocalitEEE Directory profile as proof of their ongoing support to the community.

EEESafe Contributions:

EEESafe will independently donate a percentage of all Marketplace sales and Stakeholders fees to each LocalitEEE community where Registrations are made which will help make up each regular PLEEECash micro-grant. The donation percentage may vary and is determined by EEESafe’s Board of Directors.

You agree not to use or reproduce any EEESafe content or trademarks without express written permission.

Users retain ownership of any content they submit but grant EEESafe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display such content on the platform for the purposes of providing and improving services.

All content, including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, and software on the EEESafe platform, is the property of EEESafe Ltd or its content suppliers and is protected by international copyright and trademark laws.
