A Watchdog Report broadcast tonight demonstrated the need to ensure you have a Competent Person repairing your Appliance.
Read about the Dishwasher going up in flames, thanks to the BBC…and yet it could have been avoided.
If you Registered your old or New Appliance to EEESafe’s Appliance Safety Register then there would be an opportunity for it not to have been sold in the first place. EEESafe Stops Online Sales of Known White Goods Recalls.
As part of our model and standard, each product would receive a check that it’s not a Product Recall before being sold online. We could bring them more goods by the kind donations of the public after that, and if they Register with us, they will ensure a record is kept of the household where the repaired item is located (subject to the customer agreement).
Then if you had that appliance, you would be contacted if it became a Manufacturers Product Recall and you would receive a Free Repair or based on their current policies.
Once you become a customer of an Approved EEESafe Centre, you would keep donating your old appliance back to the centre, as well as buy New Appliances via a Centre, until the old appliance reaches End of Life. Approved Spares would be generated also, to enable more repairs to Centres throughout the UK. This will help other impoverished communities, prevent waste, help their local community and lower carbon emissions. If it is an EEESafe Training Centre, then Green Skills can be developed locally to help people back into employment.
