Prompted by todays ITV News item which highlighted again, that age old problem of Product Recalls. Unfortunately it was too late for some people and particularly Mr Danny Nash as you’ll see from reading Chris Choi’s excellent article and watching the video. Chris is ITV’s consumer Editor.
Although the Manufacturers followed Trading Standards Guidelines, these very often cannot be enough for a Manufacturer to raise a Product Recall. This means that a risk, however serious, will remain in someone’s household.
At EEESafe we don’t believe this is sufficient and if anyone had these models registered with our National Appliance Safety Register, then owners would have been informed by our Appliance Safety Alert Service.
If you have purchased this model from a Refurbished Appliance Shop or Outlet then please look for our Approved Refurbished Appliance Labels. This will mean that your product will have already been checked to see if it was the subject of a Product Recall, and will receive ongoing monitoring automatically, as it would be registered with us.
The Models subject to Recalls that have already caused fires are:
Bosch Dishwasher FD 7901 to FD 8504
Hotpoint Dishwasher with serial numbers beginning DWF3 and DC26
It’s our Job to ensure your home is Safe from Faulty Large Domestic Appliance risks and find you a Registered Appliance Technician to ensure your repairs are completed by a Registered Competent Person. It’s also our job to help the impoverished, the poor, those who can’t afford a new appliance and also GIVE your old item to provide work for a local organisation.
We hope you’ll offer it to us when you choose to replace it, and even purchase your new one via our Retail Partner Link.
